Today marks the start of the global strike for action on climate change. From the 20th to the 27th of September young people from over 150 countries are stepping up to call to an end of the use of fossil fuels because the future depends on it. They are asking for emergency action from their political and industry leaders to help stabilize the global climate change before it is too late.
The protest started off in Australia, where huge crowds gathered in Sydney
inspiring the following strikes all over the world.
In the Netherlands, there are several strikes planned
during this week. On 27th of
September, the largest show of strengths will be demonstrated at Malieveld
in the Hague, right next to the Gender Concerns office.
Gender Concerns is a firm advocate for more action on climate change and wishes
all protesters good luck.
